Are you thinking about a nutrition consultation?

nutrition consultation

Have you ever wondered what a nutrition consultation is like? Working with me isn’t about strict diets or impossible meal plans—it’s about finding realistic, easy to implement solutions that fit your life.

I'm all about HEALTHY EATING HABITS FOR LIFE
rather than strict fad diets.

During a nutrition consultation I identify the key factors that have the biggest impact on your health. I think sometime we get caught in the minutiae of health, when it's often simple actions that have the biggest impact. Take for example, improving high blood pressure. You will see celery juice promoted as lowering blood pressure. Yes celery contains potassium which is needed for blood pressure regulation. I would have two initial thoughts, firstly do you need more potassium, ie is potassium the issue? Secondly, what is causing YOUR high blood pressure? It may simply be a case of correcting dehydration.

It can be so frustrating trying things that work for your friend but not for you. This is where I can help. We will identify what YOUR body needs and create a personalised nutrition plan. I do this through a thorough review of your diet, medical history, health concern and symptoms. I am trained in pathology interpretation, a powerful tool to further determine how your body is functioning. There is so much I can read from standard blood test results. It's fascinating!

Whether you're looking to improve gut health, boost energy, lower cholesterol or simply feel better, I create easy to implement plans suited to you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • How does a nutrition consultation work?

Consultations are online. An initial consultation is one hour. I also offer in-person consultations where required.

  • What will be discussed?

Diet, medical history, family medical history, current medications and supplements, health concern and symptoms.

  • What is in my nutrition plan?
  1. Step-by-step plan to achieve your health goals
  2. “Foods to Include” and “Foods to Avoid” charts
  3. Meal suggestions
  4. Easy to prepare ‘Delicious & Nutritious’ recipes
  5. Prescription for nutritional supplements if required
  6. Recommended diagnostic/blood tests if required

  • Will I receive a meal plan?

You will be provided with recommended dietary changes. As well as ways to action these changes including recipes. If you find meal planning works for you then we will put this in place.

  • Do you specialise in particular issues?

I frequently help clients with lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, correcting pre-diabetes, overcoming gut issues and food intolerances. I've recently been seeing young adult males who are trying to improve their diets, which I find very rewarding. I have a passion for improving bone health, this is a personal one.

I'm often asked about weight loss and I find this is achieved through correcting underlying health concerns. Weight gain is not the problem but the symptom, if you know what I mean.

  • How much does it cost?

Initial Consultation 1 hour - $170.00
Follow Up Consultations:
45 minutes $120.00
30 minutes $80.00

Consultations are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Other days by request.

  • How many sessions will I need?

The fewer the better ;) I don't have a fixed program. We'll schedule follow up consultations as as we go along according to need.

  • What kind of support is available in between sessions?

I check in between sessions to see how you are going.

  • How do I book?

You can give me a call or book online here .

  • What are your qualifications?

Advanced Diploma of Nutritional Medicine completed in 2016. I'm a registered member of ATMS (Australian Traditional-Medicine Society). My services are recognised by many health funds and I have a health provider number. I'm required to complete 20 hours of Continued Professional Education each year.

Did you know cooking your rice the day before actu Did you know cooking your rice the day before actually makes it healthier?

When cooked rice is cooled overnight in the fridge, it develops resistant starch which lowers its GI and impact on blood sugar levels. You can reheat rice the next day and the benefit remains.

My full guide to cooking perfect rice every time plus which variety to choose is in this week’s newsletter. Head to A CUT ABOVE KITCHEN on Substack or find the link in my bio @a_cut_above_kitchen

Lemon sweet treats for a gift or to share on Mothe Lemon sweet treats for a gift or to share on Mother’s Day.

Sicilian Almond Biscuits - this recipe is incredibly easy & so delicious! A gentle crunch on the outside & chewy in the middle with a touch of lemon.

Lemon Syrup Cake - made with almond meal, this cake is moist but not at all heavy. On of my all time favourites.

Anzac biscuits are a recipe I’ve been making since Anzac biscuits are a recipe I’ve been making since I was a young girl. The classic is perfect but I wanted a version that was a little healthier.

I’ve used buckwheat flour instead of plain flour, added pepitas & used less sugar. Same crunchy, chewy texture just a little healthier.

This week’s newsletter has both recipes, the classic from Margaret Fulton and my healthier version. Grab the link in my bio.
